Kungsleden, or the “King’s Trail,” is a renowned long-distance hiking trail located in northern Sweden. Stretching approximately 440 kilometers (about 270 miles) through the stunning landscapes of Swedish Lapland, it runs from Abisko in the north to Hemavan in the south. The trail is celebrated for its breathtaking natural beauty, diverse ecosystems, and opportunities for outdoor adventure. Kungsleden passes through several national parks, including Abisko National Park and Sarek National Park, offering protected areas rich in flora and fauna. These parks are known for their wilderness character and remote beauty. The trail is well-marked and maintained, with sections that vary in difficulty. Some parts are relatively easy, while others can be challenging, requiring good physical fitness and hiking experience.

Along the trail, there are a series of cabins (stugor) run by the Swedish Tourist Association (STF). These huts provide accommodation and meals, making it possible for hikers to complete sections of the trail without needing to carry extensive camping gear. There are also numerous camping spots for those who prefer a more rugged experience.
