Built in 1879, the steamboat Munter was – in pomp and circumstance – inaugurated in 2011. It is now possible to tour the waters of Sörmland, such as the lakes Hallbosjön, Mäskaren and Yngaren and the river passage Skräddartorpsån, from May to September.
Munter has its home port in Vrena, but also starts some tours from Björkvik. The tours are highly appreciated – and the beautiful and sometimes magic nature gives the passenger unforgettable memories. Beaver, otter, fish hawk, osprey, sea eagle and other birds can be seen or encountered from the boat.
The sensation of slowly gliding through the water while seeing the steam engine do its work fascinates many. A cup of coffee and Swedish cinnamon bun add flavour to the experience.
In Vrena’s beautiful steamboat port Pilgrimsbo you can also enjoy a light lunch or freshly baked cake or cookies while overlooking the port and the river that joins the lake right there.
